How Can I Get Off The Military Mailing List?

3 comments so far

My daughter is 16 years old and is NOT a good candidate for the military. She has a serious illness, and has all sorts of physical ailments. Everyday we get all sorts of soliciatations from different branches of the military trying to entice her to join.

They have began to send the stuff to our relatives home in her name. WTH????

THIS IS ANNOYING!!! She cannot join and we cant seem to get anyone to take us off the mailing list.

Can anyone help us?

Had this happen to my sil. Call the local recruiting office and ask for the name to be taken off the list.

Unfortunately, local recruiters get her name/address/phone number from her High School. This will also likely continue when she is in college also, as recruiters use college lists to search for applicants as well. The schools will not remove her from the list at your requests, because, its “too hard to remove one person”. And the recruiters have the right to get information from the schools about eligible seniors and juniors.

I completely understand your plight, and can only apologize for the inconvenience it causes.

Please give your daughter our best wishes and regards however. I certainly hope this helps you a little. It will probably stop soon though, as the local recruiters will eventually learn who she is and her situation.

The recruiters are not the ones who send this mail out. It is generated from higher. I don’t know how to stop that. Next year when the recruiters call for her just respectfully tell them she is ill and they should take her off the call list and you wont get calls once a week for her.
I wish only the best for your daughters health.
