How do I change the email address on the application part of an iTouch I bought off of ebay?

I bought an iTouch off of eBay from the seller “ipod-outlet” who sells refurbished ipods. When I tried to get free applications, it asked me to put in a password for the email address of who I’m assuming is the previous owner. How can I change the email address to my own?

PS I sent an e-mail to the one provided just in case. Thanks!

    just go on itunes, connect your new ipod and sync your own library. this will create the message saying the stuff will be replaced by ur library, click ok, and then it switches to ur own account.
