how to stop a union from entering the company you work for?

1 comment so far

Some of the people I work for are trying to join a union. I dont feel we need one. I am looking for ways to educate the people who think this is a good idea and those who are undetermined. When I try to talk to people they shy away, scared. The thing is our managers will not talk about it ( I know they arent allowed to) they know about it. The one other employee that will talk with me about it has done a mass e-mailing saying his peace. Anyone have any other ideas? This union rep they are talking to is telling people they can get people fired if they were in, and can change all different things that they cant. It is a long and complicated jumble how the company I work for is owned and manages it self. Things are only going to get worse if this union is voted in. They are just in the beginning stages. As far as I know there has only been one meeting and “cards” are just know beginning to be signed. Everyone knows my anti union thoughts I really doubt I will be contacted to attend.

Do some research on unions, and get the word from people who have had experiences with them.

Don’t be afraid to call the union thug on being the snake oil salesman he is.

When workplace deaths were high, safety standards low, and benefits non-existant, unions had their place.

Now, there is little that a union CAN do other than take your dues and fatten their own wallets.

I’ve got some union horror stories myself…. I will NEVER again belong to a union.
