When you are talking about gifts being sent, it sounds like your uncle is a member of the USOC’s Sixth Ring program. In order to become a Sixth Ring member for Beijing, one had to donate at least $250 to the program. Obviously, those pages have been removed now that Beijing is done. There is a currently a page where one can donate $20 and get either a USOC throw or jacket. However, that doesn’t currently appear to include membership in the 2010 Sixth Ring program. I expect info about the Sixth Ring program for 2010 to appear on the Internet as the Beijing Sixth Ring program partially reroutes to the 2010 page and the $20 donation deal expires Wednesday.
