I need help on emailing the owner of a horse for sale?
7 comments so farI have found horse for sale that I like, from the pictures anyhow, and I want to ask the owner some more questions. I have list of about seven pretty basic questions but don’t now how to put them into an email.
Thanks ahead of time!
Dear Norm:
Thank you for sending the additional pictures. I really like your gray mare and have some questions about her.
How long have you owned her?
What is her training so far?
How often is she ridden?
Does she have any under saddle or ground vices?
Has she ever been lame, if so what where the reasons?
What is her overall temperament?
How does act for the farrier?
Samantha: Are these questions for me or the owner?
She is 10 years old, as for the other information I do not know because the owner had very little posted about her.
Thanks Jillian. This mare is located near me and I could easily go see her, but I have only seen a couple pictures and really don’t want to commit myself when I almost nothing about her. I am just emailing them to know If she even sounds like a horse that I would be interested in.

How about-
Dear Norm:
Thank you for sending the additional pictures; I really like you mare and have some questions about her-
How long have you owned her?
What has her training involved / how often has she been ridden?
Does she have any vices (on the ground and under saddle)?
Has she ever been lame, if so what where the reasons?
What is her overall temperament and would you say that she would be good for an **fill in your riding level** rider?
How does she act for the vet / farrier?
Any other health problems / is she an easy keeper? **it’s always a good thing to ask!**
Thanks!
Well I hope this helps and good luck!
i think that’s a good form to put it in. a few questions I would ask in addition are:
-What does she usually eat?
-Can she be caught easily from the field?
-How high can she jump(if you’re going to jump her)
-Does she wear shoes? If so why and on what feet?
-How does she get along with other horses?
-Has she been in any shows? If so, what were the results?
-Why is she being sold?
Good luck with the mare, I hope this helped!
Dear Norm,
I really appreciated you sending the additional pictures of your mare. She’s really a beauty, and I am certainly interested in her. However, the description you had of her, was not quite detailed enough for me to be sure. With this in mind, I have a few questions that I hope you will be able to answer for me:
How long have you owned her?
What is her training so far?
How often is she ridden?
Does she have any under saddle or ground vices?
Has she ever been lame, if so what where the reasons?
What is her overall temperament?
How does act for the farrier?
I know this is a handful, but if you could find the time to answer them, I would be extremely grateful.
Thank you for your time,

I think all of the above are good questions. However, I can tell you from my own experience of buying/selling horses that “Norm” is going take you a heck of a lot more seriously if you talk to him on the phone. You will also be able to get more information.
