How can you change your email address without making a new one?

3 comments so far

I have an informal email address,I want to make it a little bit more formal. But I don’t want to go through the trouble of making another one, because it will be hard for me to transfer all my contacts there. I think there’s a way to change your email address or to have two names but it’s the same email. Can someone tell me how to do it?
I use Yahoo,if it wasn’t obvious.

You can’t just change it however you can change the name on the account: Click options top right in your mail box. In the next window under general, change the name to your choice, click save along the top.

You can create an alias for current email address. In order to do this go to “Options” -> Mail Options -> Account information -> (enter your password) -> “Edit Create Aliases”.
