Go in a group of all the students, and you will have a better chance of being heard. Alternatively, you can always retake the class under a different professor. I know this doesn't sound great, but it is one solution. Of course doing what you are doing is another choice. Good luck with it. I don't envy you at all. I have been in your shoes.
