How can I do a mass add to a category in my Yahoo contacts without adding names one by one?

2 comments so far

I just sent an email message to about a hundred people and would like to add them to an existing category in my contacts. I could not do it at the end of the mailing procedure because the names are not new. I am looking for a way to add them en mass to the category, as opposed to singly. I do not have a client email program, and I’m using Yahoo! Mail Classic.

Hmm… I don’t think that you could do that anyway.

In Yahoo Classic, there is a limit of 100 emails you can send at a time, or create a category for. You might need to break them up into more than one Category.

    CREATE A CATEGORY:
    1. Click the Contacts tab to open your Yahoo Address Book.
    2. Check the boxes (100 to a group) next to the names you want in a group.
    3. Go to the top of the page and click the down arrow next to the “Add to Category” button.
    4. Enter a title for the category in the box that opens in the upper left.

When you wish to send an email to a category:
    1. After you click on Compose or Forward to open the Compose Page, click on TO and your address book will open on top of the page you are in.
    2. Look above the list and click on the little blue Categories link to open your list of Categories. Check the boxes next to the categories you wish to Send or Forward to.
    3. To protect your friends privacy, enter the names you wish to hide in the Bcc field, but you will need to have at least one name in the To field.
    4. Go to the top of the list and click on “Insert Checked Contacts.”
The address book will close and the names you selected will be in the fields you selected.
