How do I edit my yahoo email instant chat contact list?

I’m trying to figure out how to edit my contacts in my email instant chat list. I don’t believe those contacts are in my email contact list just in my chat list.

    If they weren’t in your Mail Contacts list, they would not have appeared in your chat list. Remember, mail addresses from MSN, Hotmail, and Windows Live (’@live.com’) are now all compatible with Yahoo IM, so they will be included as well.
    If you attempt to delete them from Contacts there (right-click), you’ll likely delete them from your mail list as well.

    I also have a couple of instant chat contacts on Yahoo with whom I don’t want to be in contact with anymore but they are not on my email contacts list.
    They often appear as ‘Available’ forcing me to render myself invisible, i.e I have tried searching for them in my contacts so I can delete them but they are nowhere to be found !

    It’s soooo frustrating
