someone broadcast my full name and ssi number in a unsecure manner, a mesage sent to me, and it was used in the mesage header of a email, is that againt the law?

This is a “political/technology law” kind of question.
Imagine if Barack was paying yahoo to send out a mass email to all of the users in yahoo’s directory. is that legal? isn’t that like some kind of privacy act thing? or what? if they could why haven’t they?

Question regarding mailing items that are legal in some states but illegal in others?

Say I order an item online that is legal in my state and have it shipped to me. If in the mailing process, the package travels through a state where the item is illegal, can I get in trouble or can the package be confiscated? If so, why?
