How did someone else send email “from” my account, to my address book?

1 comment so farThe email contained misspelled words, was regarding selling electronic products and did not have a signer. They also wiped out my entire email list. This could be dangerous for my contacts. what can I do to protect us from future events like this.
I tried to send a mass email but got a message saying Bad Request and can’t get back in to remove addresses?
