I am running Windows Server 2003. I want to write a script which can send mail. I have some text in a file and I want the script to email the content of the file to an email address. The content of the file will change every time I email it, but the email address will stay the same. I have Mercury/32 Mail Server and Microsoft Outlook mail client installed.

Is there a way to run a Perl script on incoming emails to create calendar events? My company uses its own internal calendar system that sends me emails everytime a new event/meeting is scheduled. I’d like to be able to create a perl script or VB script that would “Read” the incoming emails, strip out the meeting info (date, time, locations, etc.) and then create a new calendar event. Is this possible?

a service offered by a friend, which ostensibly is helpful for many of the people who work here? I control the email list and someone requested that I send out this advertisement. I’m not sure it’s appropriate, even if some people find the service useful.
I’m being cryptic b/c i don’t want real life people to guess who i am.

for example: coworker tells me that his friend offers home painting services for cheap and can i please email everyone in the company to let them know.

for those who dont know, some of us broadcast the ’strange’ emails we receive on here. we copy and paste them for everyone to laugh and point at.
